The City of Riverside as Successor Agency to the former Redevelopment Agency is responsible for the disposition and subsequent development of the 3.17 acre vacant land located adjacent to the Riverside Plaza Shopping Center along Merrill Avenue between Magnolia Avenue and Riverside Avenue. The Successor Agency will be seeking proposals from qualified developers who are interested in acquisition and development of this site into a high quality mixed use development project to include residential and retail. The proposed mixed use development will complement the adjacent Riverside Plaza and allow for greater housing density; reduction of distances between housing, workplaces, retail business, and other destinations throughout Magnolia Center; strengthening of neighborhood character; and creation of a pedestrian and bicycle friendly environment.
